How To Survive Long Days

If you are an employee in the pumping industry I am positive you can relate to the common woes each of us face weekly. Whether you’re dealing with environmental damage in Mining, strict regulations in Coal Power, loss of customers in Oil & Gas, you’re an Applications Engineer who just received five rush RFQ’s for new builds or a Design Engineer who has a deadline of tomorrow for numerous designs before they hit production; there is a common stress and worry among all. How can I fix this? How quickly can I get this done? Will this affect my customers?

The point of this blog is not to prove that we have the most difficult, stress ridden jobs in the world. Each of us have our own issues and risks that we are forced to deal with daily in every industry. I am saying that we all need a small break every now and again to help us carry through. We at Hevvy/Toyo Pumps like to believe that we have a pretty great team full of sarcastic personalities (don’t burst our bubble). We like to laugh as much as we like to yell. In saying this, I would like to invite you to laugh with us at the top pick joke of the week. You know it’s a good one when the engineers chime in. Enjoy:

*One afternoon, an engineering student was riding across campus on a shiny new bike. He ran into a friend of his, also an engineering student, who said, “Wow! That sure is a great bike. Where did you get it?”

“Well, the darndest thing happened,” said the first engineering student. “A girl came riding up to me and got off the bike, threw off all her clothes, and said that I could have anything that I wanted.”

“Wow,” remarked his friend. “That’s great. Good move. Her clothes probably wouldn’t have fit you anyway.”*
