The Challenges of DREDGING

The greater the depth the larger and more expensive the cutter-head dredges become. Toyo/Hevvy utilizes heavy duty submersible agitator dredge pumps that allow for economical dredging in all water depth conditions. Minimizing turbidity (suspended solids in water) is important in numerous dredging projects especially when these sediments are contaminated as it can be critical. Toyo/Hevvy’s submersible agitator dredge pump system has proven to excavate sediment with the minimum of turbidity. Transporting the dredging system to the project site is costly. Toyo/Hevvy’s modular dredging system can be transported on conventional trucks providing significant cost savings. Dredging close to structures/pipelines is often a problem with mechanical dredging and cutter-head dredges.
