Custom-Built Pumping Solutions Success Stories

1200 hp submersible pump built for offshore dredging of sand

This 1,200 HP DP pump’s reliability, durability, and ability to operate effectively in offshore conditions made it an invaluable tool for its owner. It helped the company enhance coastal infrastructure, support maritime trade, and facilitate coastal area development.

placing Rubber liner on top of high chrome to double the pump’s life

The use of a rubber-lined wear plate and suction liner in our pump offered exceptional wear resistance. The rubber layer acted as a protective barrier, preventing direct contact between the abrasive slurry and the high chrome surface, which is prone to wear.

The only slurry pump designer putting an inducer on a 500HO submersible pump

Incorporating an inducer onto our 500 HP submersible slurry pump enhanced its efficiency, performance, and longevity. It allowed the pump to handle higher flow rates, reduce the risk of cavitation, and operate effectively in demanding applications.

Every slurry application is unique, and sometimes off-conventional solutions just won’t cut it

Whether you need a pump that can handle high-density slurries, extreme temperatures, or corrosive materials, we have a dedicated team of experienced engineers who specialize in designing tailor-made slurry pumps that meet the specific requirements of your application.

  • Tailored Performance

You can tailor the pump’s hydraulic characteristics, impeller design, and operating parameters to achieve the desired flow rate, head, efficiency, and wear resistance for your specific slurry application.

  • Enhanced Durability

By customizing the pump design, you can select materials, coatings, and construction features that provide superior resistance to wear, erosion, and corrosion.

  • Optimal Particle Handling

You can optimize the impeller geometry, clearance, and wear ring configuration to effectively handle the specific particle characteristics of your slurry.

  • Improved Efficiency

You can optimize its hydraulic efficiency by carefully selecting impeller design, volute configuration, and hydraulic performance matching.

  • Adaptability to Unique Conditions

By considering factors such as temperature limitations, sealing mechanisms, and materials compatibility, a custom design can ensure reliable pump operation in challenging conditions.

  • Integration and System Compatibility

Considerations such as pump dimensions, connection sizes, and mounting options can be tailored to fit seamlessly within your system.

We use our over 20,000 US gallons test tank to conduct comprehensive assessments of our pumps’ performance

Our custom-designed tank is specifically tailored to test large submersible pumps and a hydraulic lift designed for cantilever pumps, providing an ideal environment to evaluate their performance and durability.

Equipped with advanced features like a torque transistor and a command center that enables operators to control the testing process, including operating the actuating valve for seamless control of water flow, the test tank ensures precise and accurate measurements.

This tank is one of a kind in Canada and is the perfect tool to generate performance and power curves, providing essential data for pump analysis and optimization.

With this advanced testing facility, we ensure that every pump we manufacture undergoes thorough evaluation, guaranteeing reliable and high-performing products that meet your needs.

Our HPD and HPS Series of control panels are designed to get the most out of our pumps and protect them

The HPD Series direct on line start control panels and the HPS soft start control panels allow for more frequent start/stop cycles by reducing the inrush current during starts, keeping the motor cooler.

HPD SERIES

DIRECT ON LINE START CONTROL PANELS

  • PRE-CONFIGURED

  • MOTOR PROTECTION

  • SEAL FAILURE DETECTION

HPD Series direct on line start control panels are designed to get the most out of Hevvy/Toyo Pumps and protect them. HPD control panels come already setup by Hevvy/Toyo Engineers ensuring proper selecting, sizing, and optimal use of our pumps.

HPS SERIES

SOFT START CONTROL PANELS

  • PRE-CONFIGURED

  • MOTOR PROTECTION

  • SEAL FAILURE DETECTION

HPS Series soft start control panels allow for more frequent start/stop cycles by reducing the inrush current during starts, keeping the motor cooler. In addition to reducing the risk of overheating, the HPS series reduces the impact of start/stop cycles on piping systems by reducing water hammer and cavitation experienced during starting.

We Use Computational Fluid Dynamics software to refine our current products and design new components

Whether it’s a custom impeller and volute for a specific customer application, a new impeller capable of transporting the heaviest solids in the most efficient manner, putting in time researching how wear might affect existing designs or our team developing a brand new agitator which creates the perfect combination of agitation and mixing, our engineering and development lab is always up for the challenge.

Using CFD also opens up more possibilities as it allows us to really look inside our pumping solutions and see what is going on when they are running.  It has also proven invaluable to investigate our current products to see what is really going on and determine areas for improvement by making modifications or even completely redesigning components.

We use flow simulation software to test out more innovative, groundbreaking, and unconventional designs and mathematical optimization software to find the optimal solution.

The HDS helps operators get the most out of their equipment by giving feedback about what is and isn’t working for a pump in operation

By providing direct information about the health of a submersible pump, it assists in solving operational issues to increase the pump’s Mean Time Between Failures.

  • Designed to monitor key indicators of pump health

  • Easy to install and easy to use

  • Provides diagnostics to improve preventative maintenance schedules

  • Provides advanced protection and operation data in all applications

  • Connects to exiting control systems for simple equipment integration

  • Integrated in Hevvy submersible pumps

  • Supported by all Hevvy Pump control panels

  • Integrates into existing control systems using minimal panel space and power requirement

  • Data stored locally on SD card

  • Configurable Alarms based on any monitored parameter

  • two contactor outputs for providing alarm signals to existing control systems
